Backend Development Internship, Spring 2025

INTERNSHIP DURATION: 10 weeks

TIME: Part Time Up to 20 hours per week

COMPENSATION: Unpaid

UpUnikSelf Inc. is seeking highly motivated and ambitious candidates who are interested in gaining valuable experience through our Backend Developer Internship. We aim to provide interns with hands on training and experience in building essential skills in a startup environment. Here, you can apply your knowledge to real world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for both personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities:

Participate in code review meetings to learn the team’s programming practices and standards, while also being responsible for the quality of their own code and actively optimizing it.

Continuously learn and track the latest backend development tools and frameworks.

Optimize the platform to improve performance and experience.

Requirements:

Recently obtained a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field in an accredited collegiate program in the United States, or holds a valid OPT or similar authorization.

Basic knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3.

Interest in learning and working with Tailwind CSS, Next.js, and TypeScript.

Strong understanding of building and integrating APIs in Next.js framework

Problem solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work and communicate in a team.

Nice to Haves:

Previous experience with Tailwind CSS, Next.js, or TypeScript (even in academic or personal projects).

Knowledge of version control tools, such as Git.

Basic understanding of accessibility best practices.

Experience with agile methodologies.
